Duane Walker & Jackie Bee Added To AQHA Hall Of Fame

Duane Walker along with his stallion Jackie Bee have been selected by the American Quarter Horse Association for inclusion into the AQHA Hall Of Fame.

Duane along with his wife Jo is the owner of Tee Jay Quarter Horses in Canton, KS. They stood fellow Hall Of Famer Jackie Bee and for many years were on the AQHA leading breeder of halter horses list including two Honor Roll Halter Horses. Duane served KQHA in many capacities including a stint as president of the organization. He has served on the national level for many years as an AQHA director and on many committees helping to shape the direction of AQHA. He is a lifetime AQHA member and a 40 year cumulative breeder with over 1700 registered foals. He served 2 terms as president of KQHA. In 1999 he was honored as the Kansas Stockman of the year. He also assisted Kansas State University as a member of the KSU Equicenter advisory council in 2004. He and his wife Jo have 4 children, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grand children.

Sired by another KQHA Hall Of Fame horse, Jackie Bee achieved his award for his prowess as a breeding horse. He sired 1,009 foals in 26 crops. Of these horses 1 started on the race track but failed to earn any money. In the show pen horses sired by him earned 3,133.5 open, 8 amateur and 772 youth halter points. In performance they earned 1,962 open, 146 amateur and 1,858 youth performance points. These horses earned 11 open , and 1 youth superiors in halter and 7 open and 1 youth superiors in performance. He had 7 open and 9 youth AQHA champions. He was the sire of 1 open and 2 youth world champions and 2 open and 2 youth reserve world champions. In year end competition he was the sire of 3 honor roll winners. These horses earned $579.35 in Incentive fund money, $246.69 at the World show and $74.37 in NSBA earnings. In PHBA competition they earned 409 halter and 51 performance points.
