March Amateur Presidents Letter

Welcome to March all you Kansas Amateurs......

So far some of you have had quite the winter and there still is some left. My hope for all of us is this wet, snowy, wet, icy, wet, cold, wet muddy weather will bring us all some much needed ground water. Also, that we will have the good fortune of having the right kind of wet this spring (and summer) for bumper grass and hay crops !!!!!

The show season is well under way and some of you are already busy getting those much needed points for ROM's, Superiors, and World Show qualifying. I hope whatever your working towards this year is going well. Some of us haven't left the starting gate yet, but don't count any of us tortoises out yet. REMEMBER.... our Kansas Amateur show is May 15-18 in Wichita , so keep telling all your show friends across the country. Also, if your showing at our show this year and have some time to volunteer for trail crews or gate crew, etc. when your there please let show management know. Volunteer help is always greatly appreciated.

You will be seeing a new, never used, 2007 2horse, slant, goose neck trailer at various shows this year. It was donated by Lee Reeves as a money maker for all the Kansas groups. The tickets are $10.00 and the trailer will be given away in a drawing at the fall futurity. Kathryn James is in charge of tickets for the amateurs. Should you like to get some tickets to sell, let her know. You can also purchase those tickets from her or any of your board members.

If you're involved in our other events such as trail rides, ranch sorting, or versatility most of you are probably just now getting a start. If you have anything you'd like to share with the Kansas amateur community, please let me know and we'll get it out in this column.

The current information on the 08 board is also on the website. Should you have any questions, comments, etc. please do not hesitate to contact one of us. The board is here for you.
